Spatially and temporally resolved temperature and strain points
The UTS-FB1000 equipment is a distributed or linear measurement equipment that allows the reading of temperature and strain along the entire length of a fiber optic cable. This monitoring system generates sensors equivalent to temperature probes and strain gauges that are spaced every few centimeters on the cable. Therefore, it allows a conventional fiber optic cable to behave as a system of infinite discrete sensors without the need to include them in the fiber optic cable.
In addition to spatially resolving the measurement along the cable, the monitoring solution obtains the information from all the sensors created in the fiber optic cable in thousandths of a second, allowing to temporarily resolve any changes in temperature and deformation experienced by fiber optic cable.
In addition, the system includes a control unit (CU1000) running the company's UTS nerVision software for easy implementation of the solution in the field. The solution is installed both in a rack and on a wall, being able to operate satisfactorily in aggressive environments.
