UPTECH SENGING's distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) and distributed temperature sensing (DTSS) solutions provide real-time data 24/7 to optimize rail market operations.
The DAS solution combined with the fiber optic communication cable on the track provides information on train location, speed and direction. Real-time management of rail traffic data from the control center allows the operator to control the separation of trains, reducing braking and acceleration actions and therefore increasing the number of trains running on the existing tracks, i.e. having visibility of the actual capacity.
In addition, the software running on the DAS solution monitors the pattern of acoustic signals generated by the movement of the train on the rails to predict early failures of both assets, the train and the route.
On the other hand, railway services can also be interrupted by geological risk events or third party intrusions. Early detection of these events helps to provide proper maintenance and safe operation of the railway.
By combining this solution with the DTSS solution, the solution enables fire detection in tunnels, cable trays and ducts, as well as the possibility of extending it into subway and train stations.
