Leak detection, thermal process control and third party intrusion
The Distributed Temperature Measurement Solution (DTSS) is used in the supervision of liquid natural gas plants for leak detection and temperature monitoring.
The location of leaks in pipes, the annular space as well as in other elements of the plant is done by means of low temperature detection. The DTSS measurement system together with the cables selected by UPTECH SENSING guarantees accurate temperature measurement down to -196°C, as well as leak location with an error of less than one meter in the plant. Additionally, the equipment control software allows the configuration of different alert thresholds as well as alarm types for asset management.
The temperature measurement also allows to control the cooling operations during the loading and unloading processes. In addition, the thermal information obtained with the DTSS technique can identify anomalies in the heating system, as well as reduce the total energy consumption used.
On the other hand, DAS technology monitors the plant perimeter for malicious activity caused by third-party intrusion. Thousands of acoustic measurement data points are obtained along the entire perimeter, providing real-time information on possible access actions to the facility.
