Description: The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge crosses the River Barrow south of New Ross, connecting Stokestown in Co Wexford and Pink Point in Co Kilkenny. This infrastructure is part of the City of New Ross Strategic Byway, which represents a crucial component to the nation's transportation.
According to the builders, Bam Ireland and Spain's Dragados, it is the longest extrados type bridge in the world and the longest of any type in Ireland with a total length of 887m.
This infrastructure has a monitoring solution based on fiber optics that allows quantifying the level of traction at which the upper and lower deck operate during their useful life. This solution will provide more information on the state of the post-tensioning system of this bridge
