Description: The new cable put into service by Red Eléctrica between Menorca and Mallorca represents the electrical union of all the islands and connects them with the mainland and with Europe. The cable, which is almost 60 km long, is monitored with a distributed temperature measurement unit (DTS) to search for sections at higher temperatures that facilitate preventive maintenance. The commissioning of the link also contributes in an essential way to reinforcing the security, stability and quality of Menorca's electricity supply. Additionally, the system will allow Red Eléctrica de España to apply techniques:

• Burial depth
